Event Sector Support
Events Tasmania continues to build the capacity of events through its Event Sector Support program. This helps deliver the Tasmanian Government Events Strategy 2015-2020 through Events Tasmania's aims to attract people to Tasmania, moving Tasmanians around the state and getting people talking about Tasmania.
Events Tasmania sponsors the Event Management Library at the Australian Centre of Event Management (ACEM) at the University of Technology Sydney, providing a rich information resource to the events sector. Resources include conference papers, reports, case studies, checklists, guides, journal articles and other publications.
Through our partnership with ACEM we are able to provide a scholarship for Tasmanian event organisers to obtain an Executive Certificate in Event Management. 30 Tasmanians have already been supported by us to access this nationally-recognised event management qualification. If you are a local council employee with event experience, an event employee, or volunteer as an event manager, then you may be interested in applying for a scholarship to extend your qualifications in event management.
The four-day intensive program, offered in five cities – Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne – leads to attendees gaining the Executive Certificate in Event Management. The Events Tasmania scholarship provides course fees and a $500 travel contribution, and we have six on offer.
If you are keen to apply for a 2016 scholarship, don't delay – download the Brochure and the Guidelines and Cover Sheet now. Your application needs to be back to us by Friday 11 December 2015 to be considered.

Events Tasmania provides support to organisations bidding to host mass-participation events in Tasmania that would, should the bid be successful, fit within our existing Major Event Partnerships Program. This support is capped at $3 000, and can be used towards the development or presentation of the bid.
The first step in this process is to contact us to talk more about the event you're planning to bid for.
