Event Sector Support
Events Tasmania continues to build the capacity of events through its Event Sector Support program. This helps deliver the Tasmanian Government Events Strategy 2015-2020 through Events Tasmania's aims to attract people to Tasmania, moving Tasmanians around the state and getting people talking about Tasmania.
Events Tasmania sponsors the Event Management Library at the Australian Centre of Event Management (ACEM) at the University of Technology Sydney, providing a rich information resource to the events sector. Resources include conference papers, reports, case studies, checklists, guides, journal articles and other publications.
You can access the ACEM resources here.
Event Management Scholarships 2017
Events Tasmania is offering scholarships to Tasmanian-based event professionals to undertake the Executive Certificate in Event Management through the Australian Center for Event Management (ACEM), a part of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
The four-day course is designed for newcomers looking to enter the event management industry, current event managers who want to formalise their skills and industry professionals looking to expand and update their expertise.
This year we are offering six scholarships to attend either the Melbourne or Sydney courses, each valued at $2,890 including course fees and $1,000 towards your travel and accommodation costs.
Further information on the course is available here.
Scholarship guidelines and the application form are available here. Applications close at 11pm on Sunday 27 August.
Events Tasmania provides support to organisations bidding to host mass-participation events in Tasmania that would, should the bid be successful, fit within our existing Major Event Partnerships Program. This support is capped at $3 000, and can be used towards the development or presentation of the bid.
The first step in this process is to contact us to talk more about the event you're planning to bid for.
