Funding Support for Major Events

The rationale for an event to qualify for funding and support from the Major Events program includes:

• number of visitors attending the event
  
• time of year (a priority is placed on events conducted during the winter/shoulder periods)
  
• potential for event leveraging
  
• event frequency ie whether the event is to be a "one-off", annual or biennial
  
• media impact.
