Special Event Grant
The Special Event Grant aims to encourage and assist organisations, clubs and associations (including sporting, cultural, recreational, and special interest groups) to hold a festival or special event in Tasmania that attracts visitors to the State.
To be eligible for a grant, the event must attract a minimum of 50 visitors to Tasmania staying at least 3 nights in commercial accommodation.
For events held between 1 May and 31 August 2011, funding is calculated at a rate of $40 per person, up to a maximum of $12,500.
For events held between 1 September and 30 April 2011, funding is calculated at a rate of $20 per person, up to a maximum of $7,500.
After the event is completed, the event organisers must complete a Statutory Declaration Form (provided by Events Tasmania) verifying the event visitor data from the event.
Successful applicants will receive payment after the event on verification of visitor numbers.
