National Championship Grant

THE PROGRAM FOR 2012 HAS CLOSED. Funding for the program has been fully expended therefore organisations are no longer able to apply for late consideration into the program.

The National Championship Grant assists organisations, clubs and associations who secure a national championship for Tasmania in 2012. Your event will need to comply with one of the following criteria:

• must be conducted by a national body for the specified sport or
• must be a qualifier or selection for progress to a world event  or
• is one of a national series.

The event must attract more than 50 interstate and or/international visitors who stay a minimum of 150 bed nights in commercial accommodation.

After your event has been staged, the National Championship Grant will be paid based on receipt of a Statutory Declaration Form supplied to Events Tasmania verifying visitor numbers.

Conditions
• All successful applicants will be required to enter into a contract with the Tasmanian Government which outlines the responsibilities and obligations of both parties.
• Grant recipients must provide a copy of a Certificate of Currency for the level of public liability insurance specified in the contract with the Tasmanian Government. This must be received prior to staging your event or you will not be eligible for funding.
• When applying for funding under the auspices of an incorporated body, the funds will be provided to the incorporated body. The incorporated body must agree to allocate those funds to the event specified in the grant funding application.
